Punk Grunge and the Gala.

Holy Fashion overload!  Last night I was prepping for today's editorial submission with photographer Christy Weaver and model Kat Calma.  Bri turned out the makeup: muted and natural with a hint of grunge and we had an amazing morning down town making magic happen!

However, that does mean I missed the met gala red carpet live.  I did catch up on all things couture and  I have so much to share-- from behind the scenes today to the amazing favs on the carpet--- and the not so fav as well.

This years Met Gala theme was "Punk: From Chaos to Couture", and the celebs and fashion favs took the theme all the way to the top.  I LOVED how everyone had their own take, style, and personal flair to add to the theme and some were just breathtakingly gorg!   Lets LOOK!

BEST DRESSED!

Allison Williams in Altuzara

I love the long sleeve, I love the sheer panels and I love the printed portion.  The dark smokey eye is so very punk and the rest is so Hollywood glam.

Blake Lively in Gucci Premiere

OMG!  I could die over this look.  Her body is insane, the ruffle esque bottom is so gorgeous and where the top and bottom of the gown connect is sick!  She is flawless
SJP Queen BEE in custom headpiece by Phillip Treacy and gown by Giles Deacon

So, SJP does no wrong in my eyes.  I'm digging the fact that she chose a different route than black, and played up the punk vibe with her shoe and headpiece.  Perfection.  No matter what.

NOT MUH FAVE (Andy Cohen Voice)

Madonna in Givenchy

UGH.  Too much.  Material Girl needs to be rocking more material and less crazy.  I get the plaid, I get the shoe and the chains, I just don't get it together.. with a stocking.

Ashley Olsen in Vintage Dior

I have been an Olsen fan forever-- love the boho chic thing that they pretty much coined-- love how they mix grunge, vintage and couture on the daily, BUT this (although Dior, and vintage), is just too butterfly fly away for me

HONORABLE MENTION

Nicole Richie in custom Top Shop

So Obvi, Nic does no wrong.  She went all in with the hair color and I'm feelin it.  I am literally unable to say anything negative about her because to me , it just always works.  Fierce.

Dakota Fanning in Rodarte

Dakota has grown into such a red carpet winner.  The plunging neckline is still so classy.  I'm just a sucker for anything cut out this season and her hair and makeup are perfectly on point.  Loves.

Miranda Kerr in Michael Kors, Christian Louboutin clutch

I mean, supermodel .... Her hair is more pretty than punk, but I dig it.  She put her punk sense in the handbag and I love that she went all the way with a legit cut out, no fabric necessary.
