Met gala : the list

I have to admit I have been in full on vacay mode the last few days -- but that doesn't mean I didn't take full notice of the met gala's red carpet on Monday -- 

So, the theme of this years gala was themed white tie and diamonds and celebrated the  opening of designer Charles James exhibit : Beyond Fashion.  James is known as one of the greatest American couture designers, so the feel of the night was definitely old school and glam! 

There were a lot of stand outs and some that needed to take a seat ! Here's my official list--

BEST:

Emma Stone in Thakoon

I adore this -- the draping of the skirt gives it a timeless feel but the crop top and color blocking is definitely a modern twist.  I also love the side swept classic braid!

Blake lively in Gucci 

As spokesmodel of the brand, Blake is continuing to do an amazing job representing the beauty and luxe of Gucci.  She shined with husband Ryan Reynolds -- SO flawless ( shocker)

Rihanna in Stella McCartney

I mean.....  SO gorgeous !! The color looks amazing on her skin, the fit is perfect the style is perfection I couldn't get over it !!

WORST

Katie Holmes in Marchesa

I'm just not sure where the beast is .. And mrs pots .. Just saying.  Is there a such thing as Disney chic? Didn't think so! 

Lea Michelle in Altuzarra

So. Much. Gold.  And I literally can't handle the kangaroo pouch. Ew 

Rita Ora in Donna Karan Atelier 

Between the tulle, sequins and stripper ballerina heels I don't even know what to think about this look. She is so gorgeous and this is so not!

This dress just optimizes the theme of the night -- the colors and style are so timeless and she is just effortless chic .

Nicole Richie in Donna Kara Atelier

I honestly just can't cover a red carpet without featuring my muse!! As always, the look was perfection. I love the way the silver accents her lavender hair ! Makeup and hair is so fresh and natural I love !!

Hello oscars !!

The oscars is ALL about glam--- Hollywood saves the best red carpet for last and omg was it good !! I was so impressed I oooohd and aaaaahd through the entire fashion police round up and here are my moments :

Lupita Nyong'o in Prada 

So whimsical, so chic and so perfect ! I have loved every red carpet look lupita wore this awards season and this just topped the cake ! 

Sandra Bolluck in Alexander McQueen 

This is how movie star Hollywood glam is done!   The rouching and draping on this timeless elegant gown is so figure flattering I can't take it!  The simple bracelet and side swept hair is just gorge!! 

Kate Hudson in Versace 

I meaaaaaaan-- perfection !!  Her body is stunning and everything that's happening in this gown is just beautiful!! The front deep v , so stunning .  And the low back and cape? It's total fashion gold metal ! Hats off to kate and her amazing glam squad and stylist !

Olivia Wilde in Valentino 

I just can't get enough of her and her belly.  She glowed and just owned it.. As always ! This gown had such a cooll shape and put the focus behind her instead of on the bump.  Her other half also looked totes dapper in Prada.  

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior 

Again, she has impressed me all season, and this form fitting peplum hit her in all the right places.  Yay team Zoe!!

Pretty in pink

This week I am in full fashion show prep mode as my first show of 2014 is next week!  While pulling for the show, I got a eyeful of what's in for spring! This transition period is still full of darks, black and whites, navy's, leather and the like -- but sprinkled in are soft creames blushes and feminine dainty fabrics.  Rose gold, sequins, light denims, sheers,  florals and everything pretty is all the rage! And shoes? It's all about the boho boots : ankles booties, cut outs combat boots and booties are everything.

Golden globes best and worst !

SoTonight marked a pretty official start of award season!! Which marks my first official best dressed list of the year!! Yay!! Of course there are always losers-- here goes !!

Jessica Lawrence in Christian Dior couture 

I love this !! White always comes across as bridal on the carpet , but I think the subtle black detail saved it -- I love how feminine and soft she looks -- such a juxtaposition with her boyish hair-- but it works! ( for me ). Bravo!   

Sophia Vergara in Zac Posen 

Sophia always sparkles ! But I'm so over her tired mermaid silhouette choices that she gets best dressed for finally wearing something else!!  She looks GORGEOUS!  The styling is perfection as well! Out with the old and in with the new hooray ! 

Olivia Wilde in Gucci 

Omg cutest ever!! So baby bump glam ! This dress is a beauty, obvi -- but what makes it even more stunning is how Olivia is glowing in it.  This is the way to do pregnant on the red carpet -- own it!  Rock it and look better than everyone else in the process ! Yay moms! 

WORST!! 

Zoe Saldana in Prabal Gurong

Ehhhh a lot of women did the ankle / tea length thing tonight and I just don't think it's formal enough -- I know it's quite the trend but in this setting I enjoy a classic gown.  This is just too lingerie esque and it ain't  working ! 

Rashida Jones in Fausto Puglisi

OMG-  this looks like a frock decorated with palm trees and/ or/ hopefully not marijuana! Tommy Bahama meets Rasta meets Prom --YUCK!! 

Paula Patton in Stephanie Rolland 

It literally looks like she got toilet papered on her whole right side!  Too much ruffle for SURE!!! Missed the glam mark
