The METS! 2015

The mecca of red carpets rolled in today with the 2015 Met Ball!   This years theme was "China: through the looking glass".  The event showcased ancient Chinese art and artifacts as well as dresses interpreting such designs by an array of the most well known design houses such as Tom Ford and Alexander McQueen.  This year's carpet did not come without controversy as some celebs took the cultural theme way too literally to a point of being offensive.  But, for the most part I felt glam was on full blast this year thus inspiring the list!  Here they are--

BEST--

Jennifer Lopez serving sexy in Versace.  Attending with the Donatella herself, JLo looked super sultry in couture!
Diane Kruger giving us chic beyond chic in Chanel separates -- loving this Hollywood-- it's glam at its best
Kendall Jenner killing it in Calvin Klein-- This dress hugged her super model curves in ALL the right ways.  GORG!!  The hair and makeup was so sleek and flawless !

WORST--

Anne Hathaway in Ralph Lauren couture.
I just cant.  She looks like a statuesque hooded Oscar.  ICK!!  All gold everything does not chic make.
Kerry Washington in Prada.
I don't know why she keeps insisting on this tea length!! UGH!  Go long or go home!  It's just not flattering at all.  Cute shoes though.
Lady Gaga in Balenciaga
UGH.  Frumpy Mc Frumpleson.  I'm getting a kimono vibe-- and those are a Japan thing, not China.  So No, NO, and NO. Too much!

HONORARY MENTION--

Allison Williams in Giambattista Valli
I don't know why I love this so much but I do!!  Maybe its the juxtaposition of the powerful red and princess tulle but I love it !! And I love her!

Kate Beckinsale in DVF
Simple, elegant, classic and beautiful!  She did everything right! Bravo!

Solange in Giles.
I was literally going to put her on my worst list until I saw this on the runway.  It immediately started to grow on me.  She was fearless in this choice so I have to give her props for that!  It really is a piece of fashion ART which is what this event is really all about!

Love is Life!

I'm so excited to share these gorgeous photos from my styling event at Diane Von Furstenberg a few weeks ago!  I felt so privileged to work with the boutique on this event.  I decided a mini runway show would be the perfect way to show off the new collection for April, which was inspired by Bridgette Bardot.   As always, DVF's prints and styles were perfection and such a joy to work with-- It was an amazing turn out and I was obsessed with every look!  Hope you love them as much as I did ! xx

Brianna is the picture of spring in the Lillie printed chiffon gown and disco suede cross body fringe bag
Rissa in the Abigail wrap dress and layered DVF cuffs-- that slit is everything!
Nev in the gorgeous Barths silk maxi dress and Becca cut out pump
Sarai looking so chic in the Taffy cotton shirt dress and Ulrica leather heel
Sheyla wearing the Gabrielle printed blazer layered over the Lorelei gingham blouse

Brianna wearing the Lacie striped knit blazer and Gennifer  cropped pant
Rissa in the classic Purdy romper !

Sheyla rocking the Harriet silk tunic dress and 440 Martini croc crossbody bag adds a pop of color!
Sarai in the Kyla ballerina gingham sweater -- pretty in pink!
DVF girls finale !

SAGS!!

I'm so excited about this red carpet season!  Some of the looks are so stellar and there are some consistent stand outs ( emma stone cough cough) and I'm so excited !!

The SAGS for me was about redemption.  I was super happy to see that some of my worst dressed from the golden globes came through and knocked it out the park this time !  It's like they heard my cries!!  With that said-- here they are!

BEST!

Rosamund Pike in Dior Haute Couture and fred leighton jewels
I have to say I hated her golden globe dress-- but I also didn't know that she had just had a baby five weeks prior.  This reads flirty fun and fabulous.  The hair and makeup is flawless and everything overall is SUCH an improvement!

Sofia Vergara in Donna Karan atelier
Usually I barely notice her on the carpet because she is always in the same old structured mermaid situation.  This time I love that she took a little bit of a turn and gave us something different!  Her body looks amaze and I love the change!

Emma Stone in Dior Haute Couture
SLAYING!!!  She has been killing it for me!!  This is beyond gorgeous.  I love it HEAD to toe.  I love that it's unexpected, chic and just stunning!  The colored lip was a major trend on the carpet and she did it perfectly!

NOT MY FAV!

Laverne Cox in Johanna Johnson
ugh. The fabric choice, the shape, the cut, the hair its just ALL wrong.

Amy Poehler in Jenny Packham
I really wanted to enjoy the fact that this is something different for  Amy-- but it wasn't something good.  The sparkle and the silhouette just aren't fitting for her body.  It 's a little prom ish and just all around not glam.

Rashida Jones in Emanuel Ungaro
SO hard for me to say this because I love Brad G. with all my heart but ugh this is like a beach maxi turnt up.  I just don't love the print (its so casual ) and the hair.. it's just not enough!!

HONORABLE MENTION:

Kiera Knightley in Erdem
This is how you do maternity Kiera!  The empire waist is a perfect style for her beautiful belly, and the color looks amazing on her skin.  I love her makeup and she's glowing for sure

Jennifer Aniston in vintage John Galliano and Fred Leighton jewels
Again,  her golden globes look was so totally drab for me that this was a full on step in the right direction.  She did a color other than black and even a little jewelry and texture! Im all about it!

Emmy Rossum in Giorgio Armani Prive
Any women that has a gorgeous old Hollywood glam moment on a major carpet I totally have love for!  The overlay is gorgeous and all around she totally shined.

Golden Globes x Glam!

Welcome to awards season 2015!  As crazy as this year has already been I can't officially start the year without enjoying all the upcoming red carpet amazingness!  Tonight we kicked off the festivities with the glam golden globes!  There were DEF trends tonight-- metallic/ embellished gowns were huge.  Not to mention jewel reds and yellows..  So, here are my favs and non's ---

FAVS:

Emma stone in in Lanvin jumpsuit and Chanel makeup
LOVE the unconventional jumpsuit and her oh so trendy LOB hair.  perfection as always

Jenna Dewan-Tatum in Carolina Herrera---
She looks GORG!  The yellow is so fun, young and flirty unlike so many  of the stuffy looks we tend to see for award shows.  I LOVE!

Kate Hudson in Versace--
FLAW.LESS.  Every year she is so stellar.  Her figure is ridiculous and even with the cut outs and plunging neckline this look is still screaming elegance and effortless glam!  she's killin em!

WORST:

Lana Del Rey in Travilla--
There's vintage glam and than there's vintage drab.  This look is the latter.  It looks inexpensive, flashy and very 70's Ariel.  I can't deal !!

Kerry Washington in Mary Katrantzou--
This dress ages her, shrinks her and is probably the only metallic situation I've ever hated.  Ugh and those shoes!

Jennifer Aniston in Saint Laurent--
It's just so blaaah.  She is such a cougar and this dress is just neither here nor there.  Nothing screams sexy about it. bore.

HONORABLE MENTIONS!

Emily Blunt in Michael Kors--
I love that this dress is giving me classic Hollywood glam with a modern twist-- Love her hair and the accessories are styled to perfection.

Diane Kruger in Emilia Wickstead--
She did the metallic trend perfectly.  The structure is gorgeous - the fit is perfect and the styling is pure beauty.  I'm usually much more of a gold gal, but I can't help but LOVE this silver !

Behati Prinsloo in Kaufman Franco-- again, she really kept it age appropriate and fresh! I love that the cut outs are still hot and happening and this dress did it in all the right places.   Perfectly sexy couple for sure!!

Met gala : the list

I have to admit I have been in full on vacay mode the last few days -- but that doesn't mean I didn't take full notice of the met gala's red carpet on Monday --

So, the theme of this years gala was themed white tie and diamonds and celebrated the  opening of designer Charles James exhibit : Beyond Fashion.  James is known as one of the greatest American couture designers, so the feel of the night was definitely old school and glam!

There were a lot of stand outs and some that needed to take a seat ! Here's my official list--

BEST:

Emma Stone in Thakoon
I adore this -- the draping of the skirt gives it a timeless feel but the crop top and color blocking is definitely a modern twist.  I also love the side swept classic braid!

Blake lively in Gucci
As spokesmodel of the brand, Blake is continuing to do an amazing job representing the beauty and luxe of Gucci.  She shined with husband Ryan Reynolds -- SO flawless ( shocker)

:
Rihanna in Stella McCartney
I mean.....  SO gorgeous !! The color looks amazing on her skin, the fit is perfect the style is perfection I couldn't get over it !!

WORST

Katie Holmes in Marchesa
I'm just not sure where the beast is .. And mrs pots .. Just saying.  Is there a such thing as Disney chic? Didn't think so!

Lea Michelle in Altuzarra
So. Much. Gold.  And I literally can't handle the kangaroo pouch. Ew

Rita Ora in Donna Karan Atelier
Between the tulle, sequins and stripper ballerina heels I don't even know what to think about this look. She is so gorgeous and this is so not!

Honorable mentions:

Charlize Theron in Dior
This dress just optimizes the theme of the night -- the colors and style are so timeless and she is just effortless chic .

Nicole Richie in Donna Kara Atelier
I honestly just can't cover a red carpet without featuring my muse!! As always, the look was perfection. I love the way the silver accents her lavender hair ! Makeup and hair is so fresh and natural I love !!
